Why have I created this blog ?

I love sailing and I think back to my early days of getting onto a sailing yacht (as opposed to a dingy).

Even though I knew how to sail, getting onto a big yacht was foreign to me and a bit scary (especially as the first time was on a racing yacht in a race - where I was just acting as ballast).

So the point of this blog is really to try to give beginners an insight into what it is like to get onto a yacht (some aspects also be applied to motor yachts as well) and how to prepare, how to be careful on board, the very basics of sailing and how to explore more of this world if you are interested.
